May 2015 Mayo Visit

We’ve just gotten back from Mayo for our monthly visit and we found out the following:

– There has been no new significant growth again! This is a good thing πŸ™‚

– AJ’s skull has healed up very nicely since the surgery, all looks great there!

– AJ will begin the last cycle (6) of this round (2) of chemotherapy in a handful of days

We will return again in 2 months for the first (of what will hopefully be many) regular monitoring checkups. What this next phase consists of is essentially letting whatever happen and deciding whether to take action if something happens along the line.

We’re moved! :)

Well, 95% – there’s still the dreaded exit cleaning and then unpacking!

For now, it’s amazing to be close to family – this is going to be just great. Couldn’t have done it without Eric and Erika and sons – they were amazing. Ellis’ dolly proved to me just perfect as well. Nice to know all our stuff fit in the behemoth of a 26 foot uhaul!

If anyone wants to exit clean the place, we’d be more than happy to hand over the keys πŸ˜›

For now we leave you with day 1’s unpacking progress πŸ™‚

Declined for Child Care Assistance

See this nonsense!

Child_Care_Denial

“BASED ON CHRISTOPHER’S INCOME, THE DAYS & HOURS HE WORKS AND THE DAYS & HOURS ANDREA JOB SEARCHES, THE CHILD CARE NEED FOR GLORIA AND ELEANOR DO NOT EXCEED THE CO-PAY OF THE HOUSEHOLD”

Here are our appeal points that we’ve gladly formatted in a child-like reading manner for them:

1) “BASED ON CHRISTOPHER’S INCOME” – Christopher’s income has dropped significantly since the January through April check stubs. A COMPLETE and UNBIASED look at the finances will show that there is a BONUS paid out every other check. As well, the NET take home has gone from an average of $1500/check to $1200/check due to the inclusion of family healthcare.

Our roughly monthly balance sheet is:
INCOME: 2400
FOOD: 700
TOILETRIES: 120
MEDICINE: 800
RENT: 1200

*Note: This does NOT include fuel, formula, chemotherapy etc. and we do NOT have things like TV, entertainment and very littleΒ ‘wants’ because the last 10 months have drained every penny!

2) “THE DAYS & HOURS HE WORKS” – Christopher works 11:30PM to 8:30AM, is it assumed that because Christopher works third shift he should be ready and willing to take care of the children during the day time and work overnight? I would ask that any person in your office bring your child(ren) to work during the day time and keep performance in check to be able to keep your job AND not sleep any time of the day.

3) “THE DAYS & HOURS ANDREA JOB SEARCHES” – I asked several times and was consistently denied information as to ‘how much should Andrea be applying’ and ‘how much applying is too much’. We were told very clearly there are a minimum and maximum ‘allowed’ for applying, but we aren’t privy to this information, although we are allowed to be unfairly judged on it?

4) “THE CHILD CARE NEED FOR GLORIA AND ELEANOR DO NOT EXCEED THE CO-PAY OF THE HOUSEHOLD” – What exactly does this mean? Are you saying that Gloria and Eleanor don’t deserve child care because WE CAN NOT AFFORD IT? Gloria and Eleanor deserve a fair chance at child care without someone blindly judging their “CHILD CARE NEED” without asking, listening or considering the situation they are also being dealt.

Things like this will be part of the regular posts here – C.J. is kind of fed up with people not knowing what’s going on and thinking he’s crazy when he tells them there isn’t help anywhere… πŸ™‚
